Postdoc position in Paleolimnology (Salary Scale 13 TV-L)

The Limnological Institute at the University of Konstanz is seeking a highly motivated postdoc to work on a Interreg-funded project on the resilience of lake ecosystems using paleolimnological approaches. This project is part of the Seewandel project (?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.seewandel.org%2F&module=jobs&id=133304" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.seewandel.org/) and the postdoc is expected to closely collaborate with researchers in this project and at the Limnological Institute. The tasks of the Postdoc will be to establish and analyze paleolimnological time series from perialpine lakes and compare those data with plankton time-series data and paleogenomic data.

The successful candidate should have solid taxonomical knowledge of diatom and/or cladoceran (preferably both) remains in lake sediments, interest in general ecological theory, and have strong writing and statistical skills. The 100%-position will be available for 33 months and is available from June onwards. In principle, this position can be divided into two half-time positions.

The Limnological Institute is located just outside the beautiful town of Konstanz directly at the shore of Lake Constance. The Limnological Institute and the Seewandel consortium are both international, and work on a wide range of topics, including plankton responses to global change, food-web dynamics, neobiota invasions, and zooplankton phenotypic and evolutionary responses to changing environments.
