Statement Issued by Freie Universität Berlin Regarding Planned Protest Camp on Dahlem Campus

A week-long student protest camp in Dahlem has been registered with the police in Berlin. Taking multiple current issues as the main points of contention, the camp is scheduled to take place from Thursday, June 20 at 4:00 p.m. until Thursday, June 27, and will be located on a grassy area by Freie Universität Berlin’s Henry Ford Building. Freie Universität Berlin is not associated with organizing the protest camp, nor has it granted approval for it to take place. Due to the planned location being a publicly accessible area, it may be used for public assembly in line with Berlin’s Freedom of Assembly Act (Versammlungsfreiheitsgesetz).
