A total of six researchers from Leipzig University are among the 6,849 authors who have been cited most frequently in their respective fields worldwide over the past decade. The company Clarivate Analytics publishes the annual Highly Cited Researchers list, which is considered an important indicator of how influential scientists and their publications are. The ranking, published today, is based on an analysis of the most cited papers in the Web of Science literature database.

Professor Steffi G. Riedel-Heller, Professor Matthias Blüher and Professor Holger Thiele are involved in the project to establish a clinical research centre for metabolic research as part of the second competition phase of the Excellence Strategy of the German federal and state governments.
