Certificate courses in the FUB-ContinuEd program impart new skills for work and everyday life in spring 2024
FUB-ContinuEd, the international continuing education program of Freie Universität Berlin, will be offering its online and on-site certificate courses for lifelong learners from all over the world starting in January 2024. Three new topics will be added to the course portfolio: "Positive Leadership and Change Management," "Resilience and Stress Management," and "Sustainable Business." Participants can also take introductory courses on diversity management and sustainability or enhance their skills in intercultural communication, conflict resolution, and problem solving. The courses are subject to a fee and are designed to be taken part-time.The international certificate courses are especially designed for people who want to supplement their professional qualifications with practical skills to help them navigate an increasingly globalized workplace. The aim of FUB-ContinuEd is to address a broad range of cross-sector topics that help participants to deal with pressing social issues and changes in their professional world. New to the course portfolio are the topics "Positive Leadership and Change Management," "Resilience and Stress Management," as well as "Sustainable Business." Dr. Kristina Rödder, program director of FUB-ContinuEd, explains, "These topics are close to our hearts and play an important role in many professional contexts. How can we lead employees in times of uncertainty and change in an empathetic, motivating, and strength-oriented way? How can we recognize and reduce our individual stress stimuli at work and in everyday life? How can we reconcile ethical and entrepreneurial behavior? These are questions that we would like to answer in our new training courses."
Over a period of seven to nine weeks, online classes impart findings from current research to participants and link that knowledge to the practical demands of the workplace. With live online sessions and self-study phases, the courses offer participants flexibility in terms of when and how they organize their learning. The courses, most of which are held in English, take place in small groups and enable participants from all time zones around the world to engage in an intensive and in-depth exchange.
In addition to the online offerings, there are on-site courses in German that take place on the campus of Freie Universität Berlin. Individually tailored continuing education courses for closed groups can also be held on request. The course program is subject to a fee and is designed to fit around work and study schedules. Upon successful completion, participants are rewarded with a certificate from Freie Universität Berlin.
