Roughly 1,500 members of the greater Hamburg public and its surrounding regions currently take part in the University’s Open Study Program every semester. Many have been attending for years. Now celebrating it’s 30th anniversary year, the educational program for people of all ages is once again offering courses at Universität Hamburg-more the 400 lectures and seminars from the faculties.

Furthermore, the Center for Continuing Education (ZfW) has put together an extensive additional program for Open Study Program students with courses in history, political science, psychology, literary studies, the geosciences, art and art history. And every semester, courses with a special interdisciplinary focus are being offered. Fitting for its 30th anniversary, this semester is dedicated to education, knowledge, and life-long learning.

You can choose the scope and duration and you do not need an Abitur to take part. The Open Study Program is an opportunity for personal further development. There is no pressure to take exams or get good grades because no degree or other university certificate is conferred.

You can still sign up for the Open Study Program and there are still places available in the additional program: https://www.zfw.uni-hamburg.de/kontaktstudium/veranstaltungsverzeichnis-wintersemester/programmaenderungen.html
