The Acoustical Society of America (ASA) has elected Professor Michael Vorländer, Professor of Technical Acoustics at RWTH Aachen University, as its new President.

Vorländer is the first non-American president in the history of the professional association, which was founded in 1929. He will be a member of the ASA Executive Council from May 2024 to May 2027 and he will chair it in 2025/2026.
