No 112/2018 from May 23, 2018

An exhibit with photos of life in Canada by photographer Martin Weinhold opened Wednesday at the John F. Kennedy Institute for North American Studies, Freie Universität Berlin. For more than 10 years, the German-Canadian photographer has been documenting life and work in Canada, in particular that of the First Nations. The exhibit "Ideas of Land and Gainful Employment: First Nations in Canada" will be on display through December 21. It is public, and admission is free.

This exhibit marks the end of the jubilee year currently being celebrated 150 years after the founding of Canada. The constitutional law of the Canadian Confederation came into force on July 1, 1867. The law gave Canada a greater amount of independence from Britain.
