Female students interested in science and technology from grade 10 upwards can get to know eight Thuringian universities in one week during the Thuringian fall break, including the TU Ilmenau. As part of the CampusThüringenTour from October 6 to 11, 2024, a total of 20 young women will have the opportunity to discover the Thuringian university landscape and find out about the various study options in the STEM subjects of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology.
Under the motto: "Young women study STEM successfully in Thuringia", they will experience the following universities and their special features directly on site on this unique study orientation trip in preparation for the time after high school and a possible course of study: TU Ilmenau, Friedrich Schiller University Jena and Ernst Abbe University Jena, Bauhaus University Weimar, Erfurt University of Applied Sciences, Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences and Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences as well as the Gera-Eisenach Cooperative State University.
In addition to many individual events such as demonstrations, workshops, study advice, laboratory and campus tours, the focus is also on the exchange with students. This allows participants to obtain first-hand information about life and day-to-day study at a university. In addition, a varied supporting program awaits the students.
The CampusThüringenTour is a joint project of eight Thuringian universities that is unique in Germany and is being offered for the 18th time. The aim of the tour is to get schoolgirls interested in STEM professions and offer them an insight into the study opportunities offered by Thuringian universities in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology.
