Detlef Junker’s new book, "Deutschland und die USA 1871-2021", is the first full account of 150 years of transatlantic relations between Germany and the USA. It is a collection of essays, articles and lectures on this topic by the founding director of the Heidelberg Center for American Studies (HCA) and senior professor distinctus at Heidelberg University. These are supplemented by a recent essay leading up to the immediate present and the end of the presidency of Donald Trump. The volume has appeared in heiBOOKS, an open-access platform of the Heidelberg University Library.
