The following part-time position (50%) is available at the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering of the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences from summer semester 2025 or later:

Professor for Civil Engineering Planning

For this position we are looking for an engineer (f/m/d) or an architect (f/m/d). Due to part-time property of this position we expect a positive interaction between theory and practice.

Your Tasks

  • Teaching in courses of the degree program Civil Engineering, comparable courses of study and basic courses of the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering (bachelor and master) in German and English
  • Active participation in the further development of the department
  • Active part in administering academic affairs

Requirements

  • A university degree preferably in the affected field or comparable courses of study
  • Professional experience in independent planning, design and construction of demanding building or engineering structures (higher HOAI performance phases)
  • Experience in application of current specialized digital tools and methods, acquired i.e. in a technical office of a construction company, in collaboration with a general planner, in planning offices or in freelance work
  • In-depth knowledge of interdisciplinary work of advantage
  • Aptitude for teaching
  • Excellent academic achievements in research and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent academic qualification
  • A minimum of five years of work experience during which outstanding achievements in the form of applying or developing scientific discoveries and methods have been demonstrated. This period of work experience needs to have taken place after your degree program and at least three of the five years need to have been spent working in a non-academic context. If, over a period of at least five years, a considerable portion of your work involved a cooperation between a university and a non-academic employer, this time may be considered to meet the requirements for non-academic work experience in some cases.
