Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach (MFO)

The MFO was founded in 1944 and is legally owned by the ”Gesellschaft für mathematische Forschung e.V.”. Since 2006, the MFO has been a service institute of the Leibniz Association. Its basic financing is provided by the Federal and State Governments. The main part of the scientific research is based on weekly changing workshops and on the ”Research in Pairs” programme. Also, advanced trainings are held for young graduate and post- doctoral students as well as for mathematics teachers.
