Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at Associate Professor* in Political sociology

In your functions, you will have to :

Teaching (45%)
Six hours a week of teaching throughout the year in French, at Bachelor’s and Master’s level. Additionally supervision of Master’s dissertations and PhD theses. A release from one hour’s weekly teaching / year will be granted during the pre-tenure period.

Research (45%)
The person recruited will pursue their own research in political sociology, in particular on politicisation processes (relation to politics, political socialisation) and/or on the institutionalisation of political practices.

It is expected that the post-holder will be affiliated to the Centre for Political Action at the University of Lausanne (CRAPUL) of the Institute of Political Studies and will collaborate with its members on joint projects. They will be expected to produce high-quality academic publications.

They will seek external funding, in particular from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).

Administrative responsibilities (10%)
In accordance with statutory requirements and in the name of collegiality, the post-holder will take on any administrative tasks that may be assigned to them by the Research Centre, Institute, Faculty, University or university decision-making bodies.

• PhD in political sciences or equivalent;
• Academic teaching experience;
• Ability to engage in the research areas of the Centre for Political Action at the University of Lausanne (CRAPUL) through proven research in the field of political sociology;
• Excellent international networks;
• Ability to attract external funding;
• Oral and written proficiency in French and English.
