The Max Planck Institute of Economics was founded in 1993. Around 70 scientific researchers, including economists, mathematicians, political scientists and psychologists, are engaged in studying a broad range of issues: They investigate the driving forces and laws of economic development processes, examine the causes for and implications of innovative entrepreneurship, and study human decision-making patterns in social interaction. Experiments are conducted in the Institute’s own computer and video laboratories in order to observe and explain decision-making processes in real life.
