The successful applicants will work in a publicly funded research project. Its goal is to provide high-performance ECUs (Electronic Control Units) as an enabling technology applicable in the automotive field. It will investigate in the applicability of multicore ECUs in automotive applications and the impact on safety and energy consumption issues as well as implications on certification issues. The successful applicants will work in a young research team where they can pursue their PhD theses and acquire knowledge relevant for industry application at the same time. Salary will be according to TV-L 13. We are looking for candidates, that have a subset of the following skills: - Experience in hardware description (VHDL or Verilog) and synthesis for FPGAs - Experience in C programming of embedded microcontrollers - Knowledge in real-time systems - Knowledge in functional safety - Knowledge in low-power design Automotive background, code-generation using EMF, electrical engineering, or WCET analysis is a plus.
